If you enjoy the campy, awful, dreadfully acted "B" monster movies from the 50s as I do, This will be an enjoyable light read for you. My wife and I were laughing at the quality of the writing just as we laughed at the dreadful acting and scriptwriting from those old B movies. I can't wait to see what the author writes when he gets out of middle school and develops to the high school level. He probably wrote this in less time than it took me to do this review.
I enjoyed this work. Kevin isn't afraid of making the hard turns & twists to keep a plot going and a lot of them I didn't see coming. I look forward to more of his work.
Where could you go wrong with a dashing ex French foreign legion commando chased by giant crabs and tourist cuties with equal hunger?
They only thing I can cast critical tsks at is
1) WHY did you waste all that crab meat? I like crab salad what can I say.
2) IIRC the french did all their nuclear test in the South Pacific so you didn't have to pin the mutants on the Americans. We got enough problems without taking the rap for this. Besides the french would find a way to harvest and cook them up the way I like it. HA maybe you can get Crocodile Dundee to slap a few on the barbie. Waste not want not.
If you like macho, tropical islands, sex, mayhem, heroes, and all you can eat seafood buffets buy the book. Same price as a Big Gulp of Mountain Dew and a lot more satisfying.
